About Us
The Howland Township Park District was created in April of 1976. The Park District’s three commissioners are appointed by the Trumbull County Probate Court judge. The 200 or more acres of the Howland Wildlife Preserve and surrounding boardwalk area are protected from development into perpetuity.
The Howland Township Park District operates and maintains 3 parks - Howland Community Park, Bolindale Park, and Morgandale Park. After initiating a Master Plan to revitalize all three parks, the Park District's Board has chosen to focus on replacing Tiger Town and adding parking, walking, general fitness and safety upgrades for the community. The Park District Board's objectives are to:
Improve the 3 parks by collaborating with entities with similar recreational needs Embrace trail and greenway-based recreational programming, Implement the master plan to improve access and traffic flow through the Howland Community Park, augment site conditions and safety, expand shelter options, enhance leisure opportunities, and advance activity choices
